Fairy Tail has been adapted into an anime series produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight, which began broadcasting in Japan on October 12, 2009. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Natsu who, after a shipwreck he survived as a child, is saved and adopted by three magical beings: his fire-based Dragon God father Gajeel Redfox, ice mage bookish Lucy Heartfilia, and ethereal celestial wizard Wendy Marvell.
